Welcome to the Beyrouth maine coon cattery

We are a small home based cattery in Jachymov near the well-known spa Karlovy Vary in west Czech republic. Our cats are the most important part of our life. Our cats are firstly our "babies" and pets, but showing and breeding are also important for us as a hobby and a good way for us to spend our time together without thinking about work or other difficultes. We didn’t plane it, but it came. The first cat Olivia we bought as a pet, we visited the first cat show in Prague and it was a revolution in our live.

     We get to spend lot of time with our "four legged babies".  We work to extend our cats with everything they wish for, and we do it with big love. We take great pride on their health, happiness and generally well being of all of our cats and subsequently, kittens.   We are tested for FeLV, FIV, FIP, our cattery is Mircosporum canis free.

     We spend a lot of time learning about the breed itself, about genetics, feline behaviour and needs, health, cattery managent, showing, and more and more things that a breeder needs to know.  And we have to say there is more and more things we have to know, to do and have to go though with our cats, with our offspring’s owners, other breeders and judges to be well experienced, and it’s coming.  We didn’t plane it, but it came.

     We think that showing is a very important part of breeding. We change our lifestyle to find time to attend shows. We feel that a responsible breeder have to show his cat, should put in the time to talk to and visit other breeders, learn about maine coons and their standard. The show is a great opportunity to get a lot of information.

     We think that one of the way to learn and grow as a breeder is to be able to compare our cat to other cats, being assessed by the judges and breeders and respect it. 

            Every kitten take a part of our heart. We are looking carefuly for a new homes, sometimes it takes a time we can decide for a new adoptive family. Sometimes it happend we cannot leave kitten, we love him so much and kitten stay with us or we don’t think adoption is the best we can do for kitten.

We have to say that throught the years we are breeding, we like to combinate different lines, we enjoy the expecting  when the kittens are born and we like to see how they are growing.

We are very happy that cattery Beyrouth is name breeders know in abroad also. It’s nice to listen from owners in Czech republic and other countries …
